The Overthinking Me.
The More I Learn The Less I Know
Each research endeavor has been a voyage into uncharted realms, offering unique insights and discoveries along the way. My academic pursuits have traversed diverse domains, from the creation of inclusive environments for visually impaired students in my undergraduate thesis to the exploration of sustainable transportation modalities such as cycling and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure in subsequent dissertations. Furthermore, my scholarly journey has delved into the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, exemplified by my master's thesis focusing on the socio-cultural revitalization of Gali Qasim Jaan, a historic neighborhood associated with the esteemed Urdu poet Ghalib in Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Through these multifaceted investigations, I have embraced the complexities of urban design, cultural preservation, and community engagement, enriching my understanding of the intricate interplay between built environments and human experiences.
I began my professional journey as a Content Researcher for the Heritage Information Maps Project (HIMP) at Design Route Studio, New Delhi, where I delved into the rich history of the Taj Mahal and Islamic art and architecture under the Mughals. This exploration deepened my understanding of Mughal concepts and symbolism, particularly in tomb construction, during India's Mughal era. Following this, I joined Minimal Muslim Design (MMD) Studio, a graphic design startup, as a Design Researcher. Here, I focused on refining branding and identity by blending Islamic art with contemporary minimalist design principles, aiming to bridge cultural traditions with modern aesthetics.
